Blood Bath & Beyond August 27, 2011You won’t find any keen kitchen gadgets or swanky window treatments at this Blood Bath & Beyond. We’ve got a full stock of hip checks and booty blocks, and a new shipment of hardcore roller derby action! The Charlotte Roller Girls are bringin’ their best game to Charleston and lookin’ to settle a score in this rematch of May’s meeting. But have no fear, LCHR fans, because our girls are ready to throw down!

This double-header bout kicks off with your Bruisin’ Betties taking on the Charlotte Roller Girls B Dazzlers. The B Dazzlers soundly defeated the Betties in their last matchup, and the Betties are out for revenge and eager to skate to victory in front of their home crowd. When the dust settles from the first bout, get ready for more derby action as your LCHR All-Stars will take to the track to battle it out with the CRG All-Stars. When these teams met earlier this season, it was tough, strategic fight to the finish. The Highrollers came out on top, and they are ready to defend their undefeated season against the challengers in purple.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit Teacher’s Supply Closet which serves the educational and creative needs of children in the Tri-County area by providing a unique means to offer free educational materials for teachers to use in their classrooms. Bring some new school supplies to donate, and get $1 off your ticket price at the door! Advance ticketholders will receive a free raffle ticket by donating supplies as well. Let’s help every child in the area to have the school supplies they need to succeed in school!

Highroller bouts are always a family-friendly event, and kids are invited to come down to the track at halftime to push their favorite derby girls! There will also be facepainting, a prize raffle to benefit Teacher’s Supply Closet, music by DJ Cassidy of Cassidy and the Kid, and a bake sale with homemade treats. Keep the party going after the bout and join us at the Music Farm for our afterparty!
