Get Involved

Want to be a Lowcountry Highroller? We hold skater tryouts bi-annually , which are open to all women ages 18 and older*. To keep up to date on all the latest tryout information, sign up for our Prospective Skater email list.

Join the Meat Locker!

The Highrollers also offer a recreational program, for women 18+, which offers the opportunity to play low-impact roller derby without the huge time and attendance commitment required of competitive league derby. Contact our Meat Locker coordinators for more info.

Don’t want to skate, but still want to be a part of the league? There are many ways to get involved with the Lowcountry Highrollers that don’t require you to be on wheels.

Volunteer!

Our bouts would not be possible without our corps of volunteers. Bout day volunteers help us with all kinds of tasks, from taking tickets, selling merchandise, working security, putting down and taking up our skate floor, etc. All bout-day volunteers get a t-shirt and free admission to the bout. For more information join our volunteer group on Facebook*.

Become an NSO!

A Non-Skating Official (NSO) is a member of our Ref Corps, and he or she can hold a wide variety of positions: penalty tracker, scoreboard operator, penalty box timer, scorekeeper, jam timer, etc.  NSOs are needed especially on bout day, but are also called in to some practice days. If interested, please email our Ref/NSO Coordinator*.

*Criminal background checks are now required for all volunteers, league skaters, and Ref Corps members (as of July 2014).
