The Event will Feature Live Music from The Bluestone Ramblers, The V-Tones, and Swee Tn’A. King of Pops tasty popsicles will also be on hand. This is a family friendly event, so bring the kids and feel free to dress up like cowboys for a photo-op with the pony that will be on site.  Admission price is $10 all you can eat. Stay tuned for more info as our home team season unfolds, and as our travel teams’ (LCHR All-Stars and Bruisin’ Betties) season begins!

Name that Derby Baby!

It’s the final home bout of LCHR’s 2012 season, and we are bringing TWO bouts full of all the derby action you love!

First, the Bruisin’ Betties will welcome back the River City Rollergirls Uncivil Warriors. The last time these teams met, the Warriors beat the Betties in front of the crowds at McAlister Fieldhouse. The Betties are out for revenge and will leave everything on the track!

Next will be the first face-off between the LCHR All-Stars and the River City Poe’s Punishers. The All-Stars have had a busy summer on the road, but now they’re back and can’t wait to play in front of their hometown crowd!

We’re changing the venue for the final bout, and all the action is happening at the beautiful Memminger Auditorium located at 56 Beaufain Street, downtown. Doors open at 4:30PM, and the first whistle blows at 5:00. We’ll have all your favorite Highrollers, plus cool merch, raffle prizes, halftime entertainment, and a costume contest! Show off your awesome Halloween costume and catch some awesome derby!

Our featured charity for the bout is the Teen Health Leadership Program (THLP).  The THLP is part of the Communities In Schools of the Charleston Area, Inc. nonprofit organization, whose mission is to help all students complete high school by improving attendance, behavior, grades, and making better choices to support their academic goals. You can support this important cause by picking up a few raffle tickets at the bout!

Memminger is a smaller venue and tickets will be limited. Get your advance tickets online at! Use the promo code derbygirl to save $1.00 of your online ticket price! Pick up your advance tickets to ensure your admission – don’t get left out of our final home bout of the season!

Memminger does not have a dedicated parking lot, but there will be plenty of places to park. Charleston city meters are free after 6PM, just be sure to park in legal zones! There is also a parking garage on the corner of St. Phillip and Wentworth with tons of spaces. This parking garage does not permit motorcycles and only accepts cash, so please plan accoringly.

The bout is the perfect start to your Halloween festivities! You’ll already be wearing your totally rad costume so you can participate in our halftime costume contest (right?), so you’ll be ready to hit up one of downtown’s many costume contests or head on out to Skinful Halloween on James Island once the bout wraps up around 8:30PM. You can also take the short walk over to Chucktown Tavern to join the Highrollers for our official afterparty!

Glitter is awesome (unless you ask Smokey Taboo), but unfortunately there will be NO GLITTER at Memminger Auditorium this bout. They are serious about it, so we are too! We know it’s derby and Halloween, and we want everyone to make signs and participate in our halftime costume contest, but please leave the glitter at home or save it for your after-bout activities. We’ll see your shining (but not from glitter) faces at Memminger Auditorium!!
