In its 10th anniversary, we will be keeping all the old traditions going: refs in Hawaiian shirts, leis, hula skirts, pool floaties, you name it! Of course, Cruel Summer would not be the same without original art by the amazing Elektra Q-Tion Renee Q Mchugh , ( thank you for lending your talent & support )!
You don’t wanna miss out on this event, truly a staple in the roller derby community, in the Carolinas. So many of us gained our experience at Cruel Summer. It’s truly where memories are made!

Doors open at 9am
Juniors game (level 3 & 2) at 10 am
Women’s B level game at 1230pm
Women’s A level game at 3pm
Open Gender game at 5:30 pm
Pricing:
*Now – July 5: $35 includes game day shirt
*July 5th-July 15th: $40 includes game day shirt
* $10 to add on an extra game (Adults Only).
15$ for Spectator only ticket
– You must pay the entry fee the day you sign up for your registration to be valid.
There will be a total of FOUR scrimmages – Junior’s, Rookies, Vets, and Open Gender!!
Day of Schedule:
Doors 9am
Game 1: 10am (Juniors)
Game 2: 12:30pm (B level)
Game 3: 3pm (A level)
Game 4: 5:30pm (open gender).
Please be sure you have passed minimum skills requirements prior to registering to play.*
*Shop Tournament Merch and Pay Registration Fee*
LCHR does offer a $50 stipend for any Skating Official traveling from an hour or more outside of Charleston. If you haven’t been a part of Cruel Summer before, you absolutely don’t want to miss it! Refs/NSOs are encouraged to dress up in all their summertime fun fashion! Hawaiian shirts, pool floaties, leis, sunglasses, sunscreen, etc. Please consider signing up and coming to hang out for some summer derby fun! Officials that are also skaters are more than welcome to register to play as well!
