Get Involved

Want to be a Lowcountry Highroller? We hold skater tryouts bi-annually , which are open to all women ages 18 and older*. To keep up to date on all the latest tryout information, please contact our training committee with the contact form here.  (Select Training Committee on the contact form)

Join the Meat Locker!

The Highrollers also offer a recreational program, for women 18+, which offers the opportunity to play low-impact roller derby without the huge time and attendance commitment required of competitive league derby. Join our LCHR Meat Locker page on Facebook for more info.

Not interested in playing a full-contact sport, but still want to be a part of the league? There are many ways to get involved with the Lowcountry Highrollers that don’t require you to be on wheels.

Volunteer!

Our bouts would not be possible without our corps of volunteers. Bout day volunteers help us with all kinds of tasks, from taking tickets, selling merchandise, working security, putting down and taking up our skate floor, etc. All bout-day volunteers get a t-shirt and free admission to the bout. For more information join our volunteer group on Facebook*.

Become an NSO or A REFEREE!

A Non-Skating Official (NSO) is a member of our Ref Corps, and he or she can hold a wide variety of positions: penalty tracker, scoreboard operator, penalty box timer, scorekeeper, jam timer, etc. REFEREES and NSOs are needed especially on bout day, but are always welcome on practice days. If interested, please visit our LCHR Ref Corps page and fill out the contact form at the bottom to get in touch with our Ref Corps liaison!

*Criminal background checks may now be requested for all volunteers, league skaters, and Ref Corps members (as of July 2014).
