Surf’s up! Yes, it’s THAT time of the year again! ✨

The Lowcountry Highrollers formally invite YOU to make some waves this year at our Cruel Summer Invitational this year! Suit up in your best beach attire and head to sunny ☀️ Charleston, SC on August 1st for a day full of sizzling competition. Will you knock heads with the Krakens 🐙 or jam with the Jolly Rogers ⚓️ ??

This year, we are offering FIVE scrimmages: Open Gender 🧜, Juniors 2/3 🪼, A Level 🦈, B Level 🏴‍☠️, and B/C Level 🐢!

Scrimmage registration is $40, and with less than a month to go, spots are filling up fast! Feeling extra fly? Add on an additional game for only $10 (adults only)! Please be sure you have passed minimum skills requirements prior to registering to play.

We are also seeking officials and volunteers of all kinds for this event! If you haven’t been a part of Cruel Summer before, you absolutely don’t want to miss it! Officials are encouraged to dress up in all their summertime fun fashion. 😎🏄 These games aren’t sanctioned, so feel free to dress in your best Hawaiian shirts, pool floaties, leis, sunglasses, sunscreen, etc. Please consider signing up and coming to hang out for some summer derby fun! Officials that are also skaters are more than welcome to register to play as well!

Derby at the Disco is calling…and we think you’re gonna want to answer. At least the you who’s ready to level up their skating skills, that is!

Do you play derby? Want to learn to dance skate? Or still finding your balance on eight wheels?

👉 Yeah…this day is for YOU.

On May 9, we’re inviting the public to join us for a full day of dancing, disco, and derby!

We’ve got amazing clinics scheduled all day like:

💥 Roller Derby Clinic taught by Snot Rocket Science @rollerderbycoaching

💥 Rollerdance I & II rolled out by @letsgetrollnscllc

💥 Skate 101 Clinic led by your very own LCHR skaters

We’re bringing the music, the vibes, and connecting the Lowcountry with some amazing experiences led by incredible instructors all. day. long! We want to help you level up your skate game, no matter what level you’re currently at!

Pick one clinic or go all in, it’s a build your own skate adventure, and we’re here for it!

And later, when the disco lights dim…it’s BOUT time.

Your Bruisin’ Betties hit the track at 6PM to take on the @regulatorsderby in their first home game of the season, and trust us, you don’t want to miss this one. Doors open at 5:30 PM.

Celebrate unity, power and community with us at our exhilarating women’s flat track roller derby doubleheader on Saturday June 7th, as part of WorldPride 2025!

Gather your friends and family for an evening of thrilling athleticism and inclusive spirit. #rollerderbyisforeveryone

Doors fly open at 4:30pm.

Bout 1: 5:00pm- Witness the Lowcountry Highrollers’ Allstars battle it out on the track against Soul City Sirens! (Athens, GA)

Bout 2: 7:00pm= The action continues as the Lowcountry Highrollers’ Bruisin’ Betties take on URGE (Easley, SC) in what’s sure to be a unforgettable match-up!

Beyond the track, we’re committed to giving back. A portion of the proceeds from our fan-favorite “Chuck-A-Duck” fundraiser will be donated to “She’s On The Edge”, a women’s surf and skate collective. They empower women of all skill levels through events designed to build community, encourage personal growth, and ensure everyone has a blast.
